Just a Mustard Seed

Matthew 17:20 – He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Luke 13:9 – It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air perched in its branches.”

I like the second design with the two other small plants. I think it’d be more interesting a design if the front of the t-shirt was a small sprout, and then the back was a fully grown tree with the words “just a mustard seed.” Or maybe the fully grown tree could be on the front and the small sprout can be on the back. There would be a greater sense of progression and growth and wonder about the fact that it was “just a mustard seed.” I also like the spacing in the middle of the shirt more…the first t shirt’s balance of negative space makes the upper right corner too crowded.

I like the idea of the first t-shirt where there is the growth of the periods into the tree, but as Anonymous said, the right shoulder does get crowded. Maybe as a possibility to show progression have a seed barely germinating on the front with the words “Just a mustard seed” under it centered and then on the back have the tree sprouting. Or maybe have a person looking at a mustard seed or something in his hand, and then the backside have the tree grown and the guy standing near it. But, great designs, I’m encouraged by the ideas and would love to see the t-shirts come out soon!

I actually like the upper right corner because then the shirt isn’t so symmetrical. I’m wondering how it would look without the lines (but that may be really bad)? and also.. I feel like it would be hard to have a design on the back just for printing reasons..

I think that the color of the shirt is too yellow. I feel like a paler off-white color would look good as a t-shirt and for this design.

I prefer the black/gray design (the sketchy one) before. I don’t like the green/yellow combination.

I liked the original design better when part of the tree was on the other side of the shirt. Also the colors look a little awkward. The shirt is too yellow and the contrast between the green and brown seems peculiar maybe because the colors are too drastic???

Someone at North Loop said that he wants to buy the mustard seed shirt, but he says he prefers more earthly tones…He doesn’t like the color.
